Our Core Brand Labels

Our Core Brand Labels

Let's be real, when it's all said and done we are talking about coffee. Beans and water.

The enthusiasm we have to share to extraction methods for premium taste, how we roast our coffee to amplify those amazing profiles, the relationships we develop in our communities and through our trade partners, the regions, altitude, varietals, processing methods and country of origin that influence the coffee, and most notably the hands that bring the coffee to us from far and near are all things that we hope the community appreciates.

Still, that's A LOT to take in! So we sought out to break it all down in a way that's approachable for anyone and equally informative for those who wish to engage beyond the cup. Our flagship labels came to be symbolic of what you might expect from our core offerings: Blue, Yellow, Green, and Red! That way if there's something you love or simply appreciate for its quality you can just say "Yeah the green one!" We need more space in specialty coffee to be both better informed and yet approachable.

BLUE - a blend

  • Flavor Profile: Balanced, clean, and crushable.
  • Common Notes: Chocolatey, nutty, and accented fruit.
  • Notable Origins: Colombia, Brazil, Ethiopia, Kenya, Indonesia. We will incorporate any option that delivers something approachable.
  • Example: Our 2024 Winter Blend consisted of Java, Yemen, and Ethiopia with profiles of sticky dates, plums, brown sugar, cocoa, herbal tea, and flashes of berry. An amazing savory cup you almost have to drink with two hands as you embrace the warmth and coziness as the flash of fruit gives us thoughts of the warmer days to come.
  • Fans: Espresso drinkers and Auto Drip pot fillers. Don't get us wrong, this bean stands up to any way you want to extract it but the goal is to craft great cup for everyone to enjoy! Whether you are pulling shots or pouring pots this is what we love to start the day, any day.

YELLOW, single origin The Americas (Latin America & the Caribbean)

  • Flavor Profile: Balanced, clean, and bright with a medium body and crisp acidity.
  • Common Notes: Citrus, chocolate, caramel, nuts, and mild fruit.
  • Notable Origins: Colombia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Guatemala.
  • Example: Colombian coffee is known for its smooth body, caramel sweetness, and balanced acidity.
  • Fans: Anyone that drinks a cup of coffee. Truly, it's our #1! These selections always hit for those looking for a classic cup but with opportunities to still experience something unique. Looking for something bright - go yellow.

GREEN, single origin Africa

  • Flavor Profile: Complex, fruity, and floral with lively acidity and a tea-like body.
  • Common Notes: Berries, jasmine, citrus, wine-like tones, and sometimes earthy undertones.
  • Notable Origins: Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda.
  • Example: Ethiopian coffees often have vibrant fruitiness and floral notes, with some varieties offering blueberry or bergamot-like flavors.
  • Fans: The intentional sipper. Not to say you won't be with our other labels, but the complexity of these selections leave you to mull over all of the exciting profiles coming to life.

RED, single origin Asia-Pacific

  • Flavor Profile: Earthy, full-bodied, and low in acidity with a bold, sometimes spicy character.
  • Common Notes: Dark chocolate, spice, tobacco, woody, and sometimes herbal.
  • Notable Origins: Indonesia (Sumatra, Java), Vietnam, Papua New Guinea.
  • Example: Sumatran coffee is known for its rich, syrupy body with earthy and chocolatey undertones.
  • Fans: Those who love a "dark roast" profile. We never roast to that level but can almost assure you that if that's your style the Red label fits the bill. Looking for something bold - go red.

Together, the four labels serve as the perfect bundle for anyone experiencing our coffee for the first time! You'll find plenty of other selections available throughout our inventory as we explore blends, processing methods, or select origins. Our flagship labels simply serve as reliable options for our community whether taking in what we have to offer for the first time or a committed daily consumer. Now that begs the question, which color is your favorite?
