Coffee Club May '25 Drop - Unusual Suspects
Share
Very excited to roast up and share these selections this month! The theme here being unusual suspects. One being our selection coming from Bolivia, this will be our first EVER offering from this central South American country. The other is uniquely usual in the processing method, specifically "monsooned" coffee from India.
High Altitude. Deep Flavor. Discover Bolivian Coffee with Bold[en] Beans
Tucked high in the Andes and kissed by the Amazon’s edge, Bolivia produces some of the world’s most overlooked gems in coffee. At Bold[en] Beans, we’re all about finding bold flavors in wild places—and Bolivian coffee delivers.
What makes it stand out? Altitude. Many Bolivian farms sit above 5,000 feet, where the cooler temperatures slow bean development and intensify flavor. The result: a cup that’s delicate yet rich, often with notes of florals, stone fruit, and dark chocolate—balanced by a bright, clean acidity.
Grown in small lots by indigenous farmers, Bolivian coffee is about more than flavor—it’s about resilience. Despite a shrinking coffee industry and limited infrastructure, Bolivia’s producers continue to grow with care, preserving native varietals and traditional methods.
How We Brew It Bold:
-
Pour Over: Highlights the complexity—peach, jasmine, and cocoa vibes? Yes, please.
-
AeroPress: Amplifies its natural sweetness and silky body.
-
Iced Flash Brew: A refreshing way to taste the high-altitude sparkle on a warm day.
If you’re chasing flavor that’s both rare and remarkable, Bolivian coffee might just be your next obsession. And yeah—we went all the way up the Andes to bring it to you.

Ride the Storm: Indian Monsooned Coffee at Bold[en] Beans
At Bold[en] Beans, we’re all about flavor that fights back—and Indian Monsooned coffee is a storm in a cup.
Grown along India’s Malabar coast, these beans are transformed by the monsoon itself. For weeks, green coffee is left to swell in humid, coastal warehouses, absorbing the damp air and aging naturally. The result? A bold, low-acid brew with earthy body, subtle spice, and a mysterious, musty sweetness you won't find anywhere else.
It’s not your average morning cup. It’s wild, weathered, and weird—in the best way possible.
Brew Tips from the Bold:
-
Espresso: Monsooned coffee shines with crema and body—perfect as a solo shot or with milk.
-
French Press: Brings out the full, syrupy body. Let it steep a little longer to unlock its storm-aged soul.
-
Cold Brew: That mellow acidity makes it incredibly smooth over ice, with a molasses-like depth.
Craving something off the beaten path? Let the storm roll in. Your next adventure starts with a cup of Monsooned Malabar.
Producer: Chikmagalur Family Coop, growing region of Karnataka

Psst we are throwing down a bonus bag, it felt only right to round out a single origin from all three major growing regions. We have been doing work here in our local community in support of Mental Health Awareness month which is recognized with the color green. So a Green Label just needed to get in on the action. Plus, we are loving our new packaging and we can wait for you to see it. Bag #3 will be a surprise on arrival.
