Brew Better. Your Way.

A Practical Guide to Getting More From Your Coffee

Coffee isn’t one-size-fits-all—and it shouldn’t be.

The way you brew shapes everything: body, clarity, sweetness, and even how you experience the origin itself. There’s no single “right” way to make coffee—just better ways to make your coffee.

This guide is here to give you a foundation. Use it, tweak it, break it, and make it yours.

Start Here: The Only Rule That Matters

If you take one thing from this page, let it be this:

Your taste is the standard.

We’ll give you ratios, methods, and starting points—but the best cup is the one you enjoy drinking.

The Foundation: Ratio Changes Everything

Think of coffee brewing like cooking—ratio is your seasoning.

Stronger cup → more coffee

Lighter cup → more water

Baseline Ratio (Great Starting Point)

1:16 (1 gram coffee : 16 grams water)

Example:

20g coffee → 320g water

From there:

Want more body? → try 1:15

Want more clarity? → try 1:17–1:18

Match Your Brew Method to Your Taste

Different methods highlight different characteristics in the same coffee.

Drip Coffee (Classic & Balanced)

Best for: consistency, easy mornings, balanced flavor

Medium grind (like sand)

Ratio: 1:15–1:17

Brew time: 4–6 minutes

What you’ll taste:
Balanced body, moderate clarity, dependable flavor

Pairs well with:
Cosecha — chocolate, caramel, nutty profiles
For me, this is driven by the pace of the day. truly any selection can go on drip but Yellow is always the baseline.

Pour Over (Clean & Expressive)

Best for: highlighting origin, acidity, nuance

Medium-fine grind

Ratio: 1:16–1:18

Blue Label for balance and big taste

Cold Brew (Smooth & Low-Acid)

Image

Best for: smoothness, low acidity, batch brewing

Coarse grind

Ratio: 1:5 (concentrate) or 1:8 (ready-to-drink)

Brew time: 12–18 hours (cold)

What you’ll taste:
Smooth, mellow, chocolate-forward

Pairs well with:
Cosecha, our Blue Label blends as well!

Espresso (Concentrated & Intense)

Image

Best for: intensity, milk drinks, precision

Fine grind

Ratio: 1:2 (e.g., 18g in → 36g out)

Brew time: 25–35 seconds

What you’ll taste:
Concentrated sweetness, bold texture, layered complexity

Pairs well with:
Any profile—depends on your preference

Dialing It In (Without Overthinking It)

If something tastes off, adjust just one variable:

Too bitter? → grind coarser or shorten brew time

Too sour? → grind finer or extend brew time

Too weak? → add more coffee

Too strong? → add more water

No need to chase perfection—just chase better.

Choosing the Right Coffee for Your Brew Style

We design our coffees to meet you where you are:

Cosecha → dependable, comforting, works across all methods

Flora → shines in pour over, rewards attention

Terra → bold, forgiving, great for immersion methods

If you’re not sure where to start:
Start with how you brew, then choose the coffee—not the other way around.

Final Word: Make It Yours

You don’t need perfect gear.
You don’t need perfect technique.

You just need a starting point—and the willingness to adjust.

Because the best cup of coffee?
It’s the one you come back to.
